IOA contributes to new LEADER Programme

The Irish Organic Association has made a submission to Local Action Groups nationwide to highlight the ways in which organic enterprises can make an active contribution to the goals of LEADER.  This ranges from regional organic branding and the development of ‘bio-districts’ to farm diversification and the development of new organic products. Under the new LEADER Programme for the period 2023-2027, Local Development Strategies are being put together by Local Community Development Committees, at county level, to be approved by the Department of Rural and Community Development. Strategies will be submitted to the Department in July and are expected to be rolled out by the end of year.
