Get Involved in Research on Empowering Rural Women

Researchers at Maynooth University, Munster Technological University (MTU) and Teagasc are seeking the views of organic farmers and farm workers on advancing gender equality in the agriculture sector as part of the HER-SELF project. The 1-year project, entitled Highlighting pathways to Empower Rural women to have Sustainable & Equitable Livelihoods in Farming (HER-SELF), funded by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine is part of efforts to prioritise gender equality and inclusivity in Irish agriculture. Anyone who is interested in staying updated on the project’s developments and findings or wishing to get more actively involved in relevant events or focus groups should complete the online Expression of Interest Form by 8^th October 2023.

The findings of the HER-SELF project are expected to provide an evidence base for future policy interventions to enhance gender equality across the sector.
