Airfield Summer Series 2024
The Airfield Estate is organising several themed weekend events as part of its “Summer Series” over the coming weeks and months looking at different aspects of sustainability from food and farming to health and nature.
Appetite at Airfield – Saturday 20th July
Giving young people the opportunity to explore the urban farm and enjoy a jam-packed entertainment line-up with musicians and DJs, hilarious comedy sets, a food and flea market and more. There will also be lively panel discussions with some Ireland’s top athletes, influencers and media stars.
Nature Fest – Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th August
Looking at the wonder of nature and discovering wild plants and animals on the Airfield Estate. Families can enjoy a nature scavenger hunt across the 38-acre estate while learning about biodiversity, science, sustainability and nature through play. The weekend also includes hands-on workshops, theatrical storytelling, face-painting and expert talks.
Urban Harvest Festival – Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th September
Deepening your understanding and appreciation of farming. Attendees will be immersed in agricultural traditions such as sheep-shearing, sheep-dog trials and cattle displays. Traditional craftsmanship will be showcased from wood turning and spinning to butter-making and butchery demonstrations as well as an array of artisan foods.
Tickets for individual events are priced at between €8 and €15 with many activities free for Airfield Estate members. Further information is available here.
