Public Consultation on the Climate Change Response Bill

On December 23rd Minister Gormley published the Climate Change Response Bill. Key provisions include ambitious but realistic national greenhouse gas emission reduction targets for 2020, 2030 and 2050; a new national planning process encompassing both mitigation and adaptation; a new annual process on reporting to the Oireachtas; and a new Expert Advisory Body to advise Government on policy and implementation.

The Minister is currently requesting views and opinions from interested parties. The closing date for submissions is Friday 28th of January.
