Job Opportunity: Organic Vegetable Grower, Airfield Estate

Airfield is a 38-acre working educational farm and gardens located in Dundrum, Dublin 14.

Airfield Estate requires an experienced Organic Vegetable Grower who will lead the day-to-day operations of the food garden as part of the Airfield Garden team.

The grower will be responsible for the production vegetables in Airfield polytunnels and beds. The grower will also have to oversee the harvesting of fruit and herbs within the food garden and manage team members during ground preparation, plant propagation and planting.

Sowing schedules and crop bed planting instructions have already been written so adhering to these documents is important. Plant identification, recording and labelling of individual plants as well as good communication skills will be required.

Overall practical horticulture skills such as managing trees and shrubs, herbaceous plants, pest/disease/weed control, compost, path care, plant propagation would be beneficial.
The grower will be expected to use and maintain garden/farm tools and machinery and perform any additional duties that may be assigned by the line manager as this role evolves.
The yearly salary will reflect the experience of candidate.

This will be an exciting role within a dynamic team. The grower will be supported throughout the 12 months of this position.
